Reviews:
"The pinnacle of the evening, as it should be, was the grand pas de deux essayed by Maria Kochetkova and Gennadi Nedvigin... Kochetkova, for her part, is both exquisitely refined and remarkably believable as a recently transformed woman-child dancing with wonderment in her eyes." San Francisco Chronicle
"The evening closed with an immaculate performance of the Grand Pas by Maria Kochetkova, the tiny, Russian-born, Bolshoi-trained great-hearted ballerina who came to SF several years back and has made herself a star here in record time. Her variation ends with a diagonal line of sharp-cut steps that sprang to pointe and streaked back upstage like diamonds in a bracelet." Bay Area Reporter
"What sets Kochetkova apart, though, is her interpretation of the solo variation. She hears the Russian folk tunes inherent in the music, picking out the delicate rhythms and channeling her inner Tsar Maiden. A pure delight." California Literary Review

Reviews for Symphonic Variations
"Every arm gesture and shifting balance matters here, and the dancers, led by Maria Kochetkova and Gennadi Nedvigin, have incorporated Ashton's chaste yet potent classical vocabulary."

"Maria Kochetkova and Davit Karapetyan shone in the lead roles." San Francisco Examiner

"I have never admired Yuan Yuan Tan (Tuesday) or Maria Kochetkova (Wednesday) more than in the main duet" The New York Times
San Francisco Ballet's Swan Lake 2010

Balcony Pas de Deux from Romeo and Juliet - SF Ballet Opening Night Gala
The ballet season kicks off this Wednesday night with the San Francisco Ballet 2010 Opening Night Gala in honor of Artistic Director Helgi Tomasson's 25th anniversary with the company. I'll be dancing the Balcony Pas de Deux from Romeo & Juliet with Joan Boada. Reviews:
"Maria Kochetkova, partnered with Joan Boada, was luminous in the Balcony Pas de Deux from Tomasson’s “Romeo and Juliet.” Even when she stands still, Kochetkova seems to be in elegant, gentle motion." San Francisco Examiner
San Francisco Ballet China Tour: Shanghai
Review of Christopher Wheeldon’s 'Within the Golden Hour' at the Shanghai Grand Theatre:
"In the final pas de deux, Maria Kochetkova was ecstatic and extraordinarily beautiful, wonderfully partnered by Ruben Martin Cintas. Kotchekova’s well-proportioned body, her beautiful line, and her supple upper-back were perfectly displayed in Wheeldon’s choreography." Ballet.co.uk
San Francisco Ballet performance at Stern Grove
I'll be dancing in a free San Francisco Ballet performance at Stern Grove on Sunday August 16th
More information...Review of my performance in 'On a Theme of Paganini':
"The whole thing was made to showcase the company's brilliant young Bolshoi-trained ballerina Maria Kochetkova, and exploit the contrast between her diminutive size and the huge scale on which she dances. Kochetkova is the jewel in this crown, and it's fair to say she blazes in it. Ballet, like opera, is inherently a popular art, and she has the potential to pull in a huge crowd of young people who had no idea ballet was not for snobs."
Bay Area Reporter
Jewels, Fusion and Russian Seasons
"On Sunday Maria Kochetkova and Frances Chung (partnered by Nicolas Blanc and Isaac Hernandez) were more closely bound to the music, not just in timing but also on a more mysterious level. With them, you could feel the radiance of choreography in three-dimensional space acquire a moment-by-moment drama that seemed akin to the music’s." New York Times
"At the Sunday matinee, Maria Kochetkova and Frances Chung realized the graceful solos of “Emeralds” with elegance and unpretentious dignity." San Francisco Examiner
Within the Golden Hour
I'll be doing Chris Wheeldon's 'Within the Golden Hour' on the opening Friday April 3rd, Saturday matinee April 4th and Tuesday night on April 7th
"Weightless Maria Kochetkova and Joan Boada had the melting pas de deux to an interloping bit of Vivaldi, which integrates surprisingly well with the Bosso while lending a climactic gravitas." San Francisco Chronicle
