Thanks for keeping your site up. It's really a treat for those of us in the audience who enjoy getting to know you through your posts, and your dancing.
I was at the ballet this evening and ran into a friend of mine who saw you dance Giselle. She is a ballet admirer of the highest order (I do not embellish) and spares little criticism when it is due. She had written to me of your performance whilst I was abroad last month saying that "a real buzz was in the air, but these two kept it very sober and simple. No emoting, no forcing. Just a pristine technique (from both), utter lightness (from her) and class (from him). It was primarily the reading of a story: Act I and II were connected as the 2 sides of a coin. And, in characters, they abridged the curtain calls. The applause was thick and vocal but she ignored it and went to get the conductor as soon as he got ready. And that was that." Anyways, this evening was the first time I had seen her since then and, after more reflection, she was quite generous in her acclaim of your interpretation of the role, and your partner... saying that you had brought something out in him that she has not seen after many years of watching. Keep those flowers posted for some time... you have earned them!
